What we teach
Belton Martial Arts Academy teaches a traditional Korean Martial Art
called "Tang Soo Do". Tang Soo Do is considered to be a "Classical
Martial Art". As an art form, it is primarily concerned with scientific and
martial theory. We are concerned with the natural evolution of practical
and effective self-defense techniques.
Our professionally trained and highly qualified staff members will provide
the ultimate Martial Arts learning experience to our students. Our goal at
Belton Martial Arts Academy is to help both children and adults to
improve self-confidence in order to meet life's challenges with an "I can"
attitude.
Belton Martial Arts Academy is a proud member of Tang Soo Do Mi Guk
Kwan. The Mi Guk Kwan, founded by the legendary Kwan Jang Nim
Charles Ferraro, offers students a well rounded, complete curriculum that
will challenge the mind, body and spirit of each and every student
dedicated to achieving excellence in all areas of life.
The martial art known as Tang Soo Do is relatively modern. However, its
basis, the Korean disciplines of Soo Bahk and Tae Kyun, dates back
many centuries. Tang Soo Do is a composite style influenced by the
Northern Chinese Arts, the Southern Chinese Arts and the Okinawan
discipline of Karate.
