Kyo Sa Nim Henry Pugh
Kyo Sa Nim Pugh was born in Plant City, Florida, but he got to Texas as soon as
he could. He graduated High School in Michigan, got married, joined the Army,
and when he was stationed at Ft. Hood in 1991, he decided to stay. He has
lived in Belton since then and does not plan to leave.
Kyo Sa Nim Pugh has been studying Tang Soo do since November 1996. He
knew from the start that this was the right Martial Art for him and that one day,
he wanted to teach Tang Soo Do and share it with as many people as possible.
Upon receiving his Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt), he began teaching for his
instructor in the US Tang Soo Do Alliance. Shortly after being awarded his Ee
Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) and Kyo Sa (Certified Instructor), Mr. Pugh left his
job in Corporate America and opened Belton Martial Arts Academy.
Kyo Sa Nim Pugh now trains under Sa Bom Nim Hoke Nunan at Nunan’s
Achievement Centers in Cedar Park, Texas. In May 2007, Mr. Pugh
successfully completed all cross ranking requirements and was awarded Ee
Dan and Kyo Sa Certification in Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan, thus holding these
ranks in two separate organizations.
In May 2010, Kyo Sa Nim Pugh successfully completed testing and was
awarded the rank of Sahm Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt).
