Karat-A-Tots Program

The Karat-A-Tots Program is designed specifically to meet the needs of 4,5 and 6 year olds.  Our focus is to improve your child’s Concentration, Balance, Motor Skills, and their Ability to Follow Instructions in a high energy environment.

The Karat-A-Tots program is a maximum 2 1/2 year program that follows the basic White Belt curriculum but with a few changes.  Students start with a regular "White Belt" and as long as they attend classes regularly, the will receive a new belt every six (6) months.  In between each new belt, they will receive a stripe on their current belt for each month of regular attendance as follows:

  • Yellow Stripe
  • Green Stripe
  • Red Stripe
  • Blue Stripe
  • Black Stripe
Once they receive their final belt (blue), they will be promoted to the Karat-A-Tots Transition Class (see note below).  Of course, along the way, they need to be able to demonstrate basic kicks (front, round, side), punches (high, low, horse stance) and three blocks (high, low, and side block). AND, basic dojang etiquette (bowing, courtesy, etc.)

* NEW CLASS ADDED:  Between the ages of 6 and 6 1/2, the students will be promoted to a new class called the Karat-A-Tots Transition Class.  This class is designed to help the students transition from the structure of the 1/2 hour Tots class to the hour long Youth Class.  The class will still be 30 minutes long but will focus on the material required in the Youth Program in a format similar to that of the Tots class.  This should make the transition less intimidating.  The program will be 6 months long and new classes will start each January and July.  At the end of the 6 months, the students should be ready to participate in the regular June and December Gup testing and receive their Orange Belt.  After the test they will be moved into the regular Youth Classes which last an hour each night.
